Map Search Widget

Let buyers draw the neighborhood they actually want

Buyers pan, zoom, and draw a shape on the map to see every listing inside it, and any shape they draw can be saved as a search that keeps working after they leave.

What it does

A map-driven search surface where buyers pan, zoom, and draw polygons to find properties geographically, instead of (or alongside) the list-style filter search. Clusters of pins resolve to individual listings as the buyer zooms in, and drawn polygons become reusable saved searches or market areas.

Key capabilities

  • Pan, zoom, viewport-driven listing queries
  • Marker clustering with progressive zoom resolution
  • Polygon-draw tool for arbitrary geographic search
  • Polygon save as either personal saved search or agent-owned market area
  • Embeddable as a web component

Good to know

  • Custom polygon search depends on the MLS board's geo-filtering support
  • Very dense markets may need tile-level pre-clustering for performance

Why teams choose this

  1. Buyers shop by neighborhood, not by ZIP, so map and polygon search matches how they actually think

  2. Drawn polygons aren't ephemeral; they become saved searches and market areas

  3. Same filter schema as list search means buyers can switch modes without losing context
