Customizations

# Get what you want. The way you want it.

Most requests are already in AeroIDX, on the roadmap, or a bug we fix for free. Custom development is for what is truly unique to your office, and it is billed by the hour.

## What you need may already be here

1. [ Is it already a setting? It might be. The help docs are a good place to look.](https://app.aeroidx.com/help)
2. [ Is something not working? Let us know. Bug fixes are always free.](https://app.aeroidx.com/help/submit-request)
3. [ Could other agents use it too? Send it as a feature request. If it fits the roadmap, it costs you nothing.](https://app.aeroidx.com/help/submit-request)
4. [ Is it just for your office? Then custom work may be the right fit. Here is how it works.](https://aeroidx.com#pricing)

A simple way to tell: if the change would help other customers as it is, it belongs on the roadmap, and you do not pay for it.

What it costs

$150 /hour

Billed in half-hour increments for the hours actually worked. 1-hour prepaid minimum to start.

[Buy 1 hour to start](https://buy.stripe.com/3cI28q1wYfuwfMB7ic7IY0k)

- **Estimate before work starts.** You approve a range. Nothing is built until you say go.
- **Rush projects: $300/hour.** We start within one business day and work at least 2 hours per business day.
- **Weekly billing.** Invoices go out Wednesday for the previous week. Unpaid invoices are charged automatically on Friday.

What we build

## What custom work looks like

- ### A field only your MLS sends

Water rights, dock depth, an HOA rule no other board publishes. We pull it out of your feed and put it in the filters.

- ### A webhook your CRM actually accepts

The exact payload, field names and auth your in-house system expects, so nobody on your team has to maintain a mapping layer.

## What we don't do

- Fixed-price quotes for custom work.
- Rebuilds to copy Zillow or Redfin. Those sites cost millions to build.
- Anything MLS rules do not allow us to display, store or send.
- Phone-driven projects. Requests and updates happen by email.
- Weekend or same-day work, unless you pay the rush rate.
- Support for outdated browsers. We build for Chrome, Firefox and iOS.

If you need a fixed price or a phone-first process, we are not the right fit, and we would rather say that now.

How it works

## Three steps, and you approve before we build

1. 1

    ### Send it in writing.

Describe the outcome, not the fix. Include links, screenshots or a short screen recording. We do not scope from phone calls.

2. 2

    ### We scope it.

A quick fit check is free. If a full estimate takes more than 30 minutes, that time is billed. If it is a bug or a roadmap item, we tell you and you pay nothing.

3. 3

    ### You approve, then we build.

Nothing is built until you approve the range. If the work will run past it, we stop and ask first.

### How we work

- We work 9 to 5, Monday to Friday. No weekends.
- New projects enter the queue in 5 to 7 business days.
- We work about 2 hours per project per week.
- Expect updates every 2 to 3 days.
- No reply for 2 business days moves your project to archived. Restarting takes 3 business days.

Scope creep

## Small extras add up

You ask how long it takes to add your logo. We say about 15 minutes. Then a second email arrives: while you are in there, can you adjust the menus?

Our answer is yes. We are happy to do it. But the menus are billed too, on top of the logo.

This is called scope creep, and it is common. Once work starts on your site, it is easy to want a few more things done. That is fine. Just know that each extra adds time to the bill.

### To keep the bill close to the estimate

- Send everything you want in the first request.
- Group small changes into one job.
- Each addition is scoped and approved on its own.

Example

- **Add my logo** The original request 15 min
- **\+ Adjust the menus** Asked while we were working 30 min
- **\+ Update the footer** Asked the next day 30 min

You approved **15 min**

Time worked **1 hr 15 min**

FAQ

## Questions worth asking first

**Why will you not give me a fixed price?**

Custom work has too many unknowns to price upfront. Your MLS feed, your website setup and your other tools all affect how long it takes. We give you an estimated range of hours instead, and you only pay for the hours we work. If you need a fixed price, we are not the right fit.

**How do I know this is not just a bug you are charging me for?**

We check first. If AeroIDX is not doing something it says it does, it is a bug, and we fix it for free. If the change would help other customers too, it goes on the roadmap at no cost to you. Only what is specific to your office is custom work.

**What is free and what is billed?**

The first fit check is free. If a full estimate takes more than 30 minutes, that time is billed and comes out of your prepaid hour. After that, we bill for time working on your site, IDX or tools, and time answering your emails.

**How am I billed?**

$150 an hour, in half-hour increments. Fifteen minutes is billed as thirty, so group small changes. You prepay 1 hour to start. Invoices go out Wednesday for the previous week, and unpaid invoices are charged automatically on Friday.

**Does the customization survive AeroIDX updates?**

Yes. We keep it working through AeroIDX releases at no cost. Changing how it works, or adding to it, is new custom work.

**Do I own what you build?**

You own the use of it, built to your requirements. You do not get exclusivity over the idea. If we later add something similar to the platform for everyone, your version is covered by the platform from then on.

**What if you cannot build it?**

We tell you during the fit check, before any billed time. Some requests break MLS rules. Others would cost more than the problem is worth.

**Can you work with my own developer?**

Yes. Your developer describes what they need, and we build the endpoint or webhook to match. All communication is by email, including with your developer.

**How soon can you start?**

New projects enter the queue 5 to 7 business days after you approve the estimate. Rush projects start within one business day at $300 an hour.
